Michele Forbes
Australian painter Michele Forbes born in Sydney raised in an artistic family in the Sutherland Shire began her painting career very early, and as a young child spent much of her time drawing. From a childhood surrounded by nature Michele’s love of the Australian landscape and native flowers shines through her work. Initially self taught, Michele then graduated from the Southern Sydney Institute St George College with the Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts.
With eighteen years experience, Michele is an artist of immense passion and vitality. Michele has worked and experimented in all subjects and mediums to develop her style and after her first solo exhibition she received a large number of commissions. Michele has conducted many group, solo exhibitions, workshops and demonstrations over the years, she often gets asked to be the featured artist in many shows. She also enters the Archibald and Portia Geach Portrait Prize each year. Her contemporary interpretations have held a wide appeal both locally and internationally and buyers have often commented that Michele has the ability to turn a somewhat everyday subject into the mysterious and exciting.
